Oh, hello there!👋🏼 I'm Justin Wallace

A dedicated developer & designer

(Don't you just love alliteration?)

A bit about me

I am a dedicated and driven software engineer with a love for fantastic frontends, intuitive interfaces, advanced APIs, alliteration & avocados 🥑. My educational background in web design & development paired with my endless curiosity and grit allows me to create accessible modern user experiences.

I have been most recently motivated by Typescript (both on the front and backend). However, I understand the need for diversifying and am always learning. I have an obsession with writing clean, readable, well-tested, and scalable code regardless of language or framework.

My greatest assets as an engineer are easily my grit, curiosity, communication, and willingness/ability to learn. Nothing like digging into some docs with my morning coffee to start the day! 🤓

Justin is the definition of rockstar developer. Quick to learn, highly self-motivated, and constantly innovative, Justin is the ideal member for any web development team. Throughout the course of our work together on Webstacks' internal UI library, he pushed everyone on the team including himself to write better code, improve communication, and create better processes.

Justin possesses the rare combination of great talent, excellent work ethic and fun personality. He always went above and beyond what was asked of him and produced excellent work, on time... He would make a great addition to any professional environment.

Justin Wallace was an absolute godsend for us. They're countless times when things fell behind but Justin came in and saved the day for the team. Throughout the project, I was shocked at his knowledge regarding certain topics. He also went out of his way to put in the extra effort for code reviews, and to share bits of pieces of knowledge in order to make us better developers.

Justin Wallace showed a respect for the creative process, great attention to detail, and a strong work ethic while working on all of his projects. He approached each project from a well thought out perspective but took opportunities to be creative and learn something new... Justin's most endearing skills were his self-motivation and desire to learn.

I've watched Justin transform as a developer over the last few months working with Freshworks. He is talented, excellent with clients, and asks all the right questions to keep things on track for success... Justin is a unit! I hope that I get to work on another project with Justin soon.

Some Projects

A couple of projects to show my progression over the years. From jQuery to Node (and plenty of others in between) I feel these works highlight my thought process and how I always either try to make the most out of whatever tools I have or learn the tools I need.

My first VS Code extension

A minor walk through the process behind how I made my first VS Code extension, React Lazify, a lazy way to create lazy imports. The process was actually a lot easier than I expected and it gave me a bit more respect for Microsoft.
